tipping over

If you've read the stuff over there in the left column, you either have some odd ideas, or some questions.  Let me explain a couple of issues.

Monica wanted AOL.  I am against AOL.  Grandma has AOL.  I am the bad guy.  Fine, I'll load the trial version, and see how she does on chores.  She loves her AOL music videos.  Last night, we had no internet.  She litereally cried.  Sad to see your child as addicted to the internet as you are.  Sad.

Natalie tips over.  It's sad to be a clutz, sadder still to watch you child inherit this crap.  I bump into walls, bang my forearm into doorknobs in the hallway, and fall down the last few stairs of a flight at LEAST every other week.  The family muffles their laughter while asking if I'm OK.  Tonight, Natalie was headed down the stairs, got 4 steps down an 8 step flight and I heard "bam bam bam THUD....waaaaaa!"  I knew what happened instantly.  I tried to comfort her, although her problem was a bruised ego...she wasn't really hurt.  I feel for her, because I, too, sometimes tip over.

Snow, internet interruptus, and weary bones

Well, Monday's suck.  Monday's always have sucked pretty bad.  My body has become accustomed to my couch and the long hours we're working right now really get to me worse on Monday than any other day.  I loyally went in yesterday and worked my (almost) 12 hours.

We had promised the girls that we'd decorate the tree when I got home, and Kevin was so sweet as to have hot chocolate fixed up for us, then we put on Christmas music and got to work.  It's a pretty little tree!  I'll take a pic soon.

After we were done, I came upstairs and fired up the computer.  No signal.  We've been having router issues, so I cycled it a couple of times to no avail.  I finally called Comcast and found out that their service was down.  It stayed down all evening.  DRAT!  What do people DO all evening?  I can only play so many games of solitaire!

It snowed a beautiful snow today, pretty flakes, nice snow-covered trees...Tuesday was already better than Monday had been.  I'm still tired as all get-out, but things are looking up!  At last, I get home tonight and have internet service.  Time to catch up on journals, message boards, emails and favorite sites.  PHEW!  I knew all of that mess was Monday's fault.

Kevin's troubles

Well, as Kevin was getting ready to pack up to head home, his mom let him know that she's having kitchen sink problems.  Since her other son, Steve, died earlier this year, Kevin tries to do all he can while he's down there.  He is under her sink in her tiny kitchen, the girls are fussing at each other in the next room, and he cut a piece too short!

He went back to the Farm and Home to find them locking up for the evening.  Then he headed to WalMart...I really hope they have what he needs.  Otherwise, he'll drive to Joplin and he doesn't want to do that at ALL.

I'm glad he's helping his mom, but he's getting REAL grumpy.  I hope the girls are good on the way home (Lord, let them sleep) and I hope it doesn't start snowing before they get here.  It'll be dark before they're home as it is!

Football, Chili, and lonliness

Brett's at his dads this weekend.  I had to work yesterday, so Kevin and the girls headed to Carthage to visit his mom.  I always look forward to the peace and quiet, but halfway through the evening, I'm bored and lonely.  I just want them to get home.  Tonight we'll decorate the tree and see how long it takes the cats to tear it down.

I made a pot of chili and turned on the Chiefs game.  They frustrate me so much.  We're tied right now, but I am scared to get my hopes up.  It's not fun to get excited and yell when you're home alone.  I should have gone to mom's house.  At least I got to see the X-factor (Dante Hall) return a kick off for a touchdown.  That hasn't happened since last year.

I guess I could go clean something.  What an exciting Sunday afternoon!
