Well, today was....today. Kevin's shoulder was improving with each visit to physical therapy. Last week, it kind of started hurting again. Then, it hurt some more. Then, at his last therapy session of the week, it was popping at certain points. The therapist seemed concerned, and instead of putting him through the paces, they did some electric treatments and some compresses, and told him they'd see him on Tuesday, but they were watchful.
He went in today. Not only is the popping still there, it is now inflamed. He has a Dr. appointment tomorrow, to evaluate if he's ready to return to work. Hell, he's gone BACKWARDS in the past week. He hurts like mad. The therapist said something about the ligament maybe being "frayed" or "torn" instead of just "inflamed." Sheesh.
I will think the worst for this one moment, and this moment only (remember, I'm an eternal optimist,) and think "what if he can't go back to work." Well, we'd get rid of sattelite and internet, quit buying Diet Coke, and lots of other things that we could live without. We WOULD get by.
OK, back to optimistic: He will be fine. It's just taking longer than expected. We will get by (we have so far, right?) This isn't the worst situation we've been through in our 13 year relationship. As long as he's off work, I'm coming home to a picked-up house, homework being done, and dinner on the table. Who can complain about that? Want to see tonight's dinner? Yeah, who can complain about chicken enchiladas?
After all of this news (and stress) today, I came home to one depressed daughter (she can't enter a store or see anyone other than family, due to "the pox") and another daughter who had a good surprise for mom.
Look what Monica brought to me tonight:
This poor hybisucs was clinging to one last day without a freeze. It looks a bit worse for the wear, but it was for ME! It looked tired, but still pretty, and I had to share. Thanks, Monica, for cheering me up tonight.

what a thoughtful daughter...
Gosh I hope Kevin is ok. They may need to do some more tests to see the ligament. I know this is scary. Will be praying for you guys. I pray for my journal buds! One neat thing about journaling is that we connect across states and can send up those prayers for one another!!!
If you have to give up diet coke...I will sponsor you for at least one month ok? LOL Ummm... now how much do you drink in one day before I commit?
I've had dinner already but I'm getting hungry anyway looking at chicken enchiladas. Yum.

tired, but still pretty....just like you. *wink*
I have frayed tendons in my knees from the car accident. They still hurt (2 years later) but as long as I don't push on my knees or overdo, it's not too bad. I know that's not really good news, but.... :-/

I am sorry to hear that Kevin is feeling worse. Hopefully the DR can give him some insight on what is going on and fix it, without missing much more work.
It would be hard for me to give up the luxury of having my husband home taking care of dinner and pick-up. The enchiladas look FABULOUS!
I hope your pox stricken daughter is feeling better. I wonder if there is some rare instances where people can get them twice. My son got the pox vaccine when he was about 14 months old. I was pregnant with my youngest son, and he actually broke out with a mild case of them. They assured me that everything was ok, I had them the old fashioned way when I was two, ect.
When my youngest son was old enough to take it, he didn't break out or anything.
Fast forward to Spring Break '06. We spent a lovely week couped up with Rotavirus..the second week, my oldest son broke out in chicken pox. My youngest son who usually catches everything didn't get them.
I just thought the whole thing was weird. I had never known anyone to get them twice until Nicholas did.
Have a good day!

Sos orry about Kevin. How are the itchies? What a sweet gesture MOnica!
That was sweet of Monica to bring you that flower. Give her a kiss for me, ok?
Hope you find out what's going on with Kevin's shoulder soon.
