A goat rope. This is a goat rope.

I was on a trip earlier this year, when one of the pilots was driving a crew car* and Dan, myself, and the other pilot were riding along.  We were trying to get something to eat.  We passed the exit we were looking for, and turned around.  Then, we passed the exit again.  As we turned around again, the pilot who was driving said, "This is a goat rope!"

That phrase cracked me up, since I'd never heard it before.  It is now part of my vocabulary.  I've heard about a "cluster f***" and a "freakin' mess", but never a "goat rope," although they all mean the same thing.  I've now added it to my list of phrases.

Kevin and I need to leave the house by 5 in the morning, to arrive at the airport by 6:30, for a 7:50 flight.  It is supposed to snow tonight.  In APRIL!  If the flight is delayed, the booth setup will get a bit tense, but we'll get it done.  I'm not packed.  After a couple of days out of town, wearing my work clothes (clothes with the logo on them...girl clothes...not Tshirts and jeans...not sweats and sweat shirts...no tennis shoes) I have to wash everything before we go.

Yet, here I am.  On the computer.  Wishing friends "happy birthday" and emailing my mother.  Reading about the plights of a doting grandma, a golfing cop, a confused friend, and many others.  I'm teasing the dogs with, "Get 'em!  There's a dog!  Sick 'em!  Who's out there??"  I'm talking to Kevin about the trip.  I'm watching my girls watch the world premiere of Hannah Montana's newest video.  Yeah.  I should pack.  See ya later.

*A crew car is one that a small airport keeps around for pilots to drive when they're in town.  They are sometimes beat up clunkers, and sometimes retired cop cars.  It's a mixed bag, and you takewhat you can get, when there are no rentals available.

What is this "cluster fork" you speak of?  I'm curious.

Oh it's 6:30 right now and hopefully you have arrived safely at the airport "packed".  Hope you have a good trip.
