Weirdness

I'm feeling weird.  My girls are gone to S. MO for the holiday.  They'll go to Little Rock with grammy for Thanksgiving, and they'll have fun and be happy and eat well.  Brett is spending the night with a friend, from where his dad will pick him up for the holiday where he'll have fun and be happy and eat well.  Mom and Dad are going to Wisconsin where they'll have fun and be happy and eat well.  I'll be here.

Kevin and I have nowhere to go for Thanksgiving.  I'm 36.  I've ALWAYS been at mom's, or Kevin's mom's, or cooked for family on Thanksgiving.  This year, nothing.  The kids are gone, the family is gone....we're batching it.  Yeah, we'll keep busy with putting lights on the house, etc, but damn...I'm bummin' a bit.

It'll be OK.  I have to work Friday and Saturday.  I'll busy myself with decorating the house with Kevin.  We've never owned a house before, so we're looking forward to it.  It'll be fun...Right?  RIGHT?

Yeah, Fun.

I think you and Kevin should go to a kinda fancy place... just the two of you.  You can afford it, without the kids.

I'm with your mother on this one.  Go somewhere nice and take advantage of your alone time.  Or really take advantage and have a candle lit dinner.  Have something special like lobster, something you can't have with kids around.  You can always have turkey next week.
I have only one piece of advice when decorating your first house.  Set up a camera and just let it tape.  You could win some money on America's Funniest Home Videos.  lol

I third the motion....go somewhere that you wouldn't go with the kids....and by all means record this first year of decorating the new house.

I'm hearing ya....this year will be strange for us too. Going to a restaurant just doesn't seem right. And without dad will really seem weird. What is it about Thanksgiving and being 36? Sheesh. You will have a lot of fun decorating the house!!!! We are doing that this weekend too. I can't wait. Have a great Thanksgiving....or at least try to! ;o)

P.S.  Your blessings are still yours, even if they are scattered about.  Happy Thanksgiving.
