Sticking around

Well, I called AOL last night and told them I wanted to cancel service.  She told me how much I'd be losing, with the firewall and antivirus and yadda yadda.  I told her that I have all of that through my employer, and that I never even launch the program.  I have AOL ONLY for the journal, and now I could get that for free.

She informed me that, if I didn't need any of that stuff, and I had hi speed internet, I could get AOL for $4.95.  WHAT???  I've been getting hosed!  I've been paying $14.95 a month for a year!  Well, Monica signs on sometimes, so I guess I'll keep it...for $5.  For now.

LOL, I'm so fickle.

Hey, you'd better check.  I think the $4.95 only covers 3 hours a month online and lets you keep your screen name.  They almost hooked me on that one also, until I had him repeat it.

I wish I'd have known about your situation. We've been using the "bring your own access" plan for a long time, and it's the only reason I keep AOL. It is only $4.95, but watch out, if you use a debit card rather than a credit care, they nail you for another $5!

ah love the cheap price too

Ain't it amazing the deals they can come up with when they think you're leaving!  I'm glad you are staying.  Don't blame anyone who left.  I plan on sticking with it here unless they advertise something like a sex change operation clinic on my journal.  :-O    Barbara

4.95? A month?  you were paying 14.95?  I have been robbed!
Well, now that I have hi speed I have AOL and Road Runner for the low price of 23.90.

Hey, if you can get anything for free I would go that way!
