Thursday, 'N Stuff

So, I'm working OT, Kevin is working OT (the difference is that he gets paid for his.)  Mom has had the dog 2 out of the last 4 days, and she'll have him again tomorrow.  Sorry Mom.

Tonight, we had a "beer in the garden" at work.  I didn't drink a beer.  More on that at another time.  We had a great time for an hour or so, and then I headed home.  There is some great local gossip, but I suppose I had better keep my mouth shut.  I have to live here, right?

Tomorrow is Ya'llapalooza!  I got in on 2 ticket-hits, netting 4 tickets.  Then Kevin won 2 tickets and a back-stage meet-and-greet with Keith Anderson!  WoooHooo!  That left me some tickets to gift upon someone.  What an awesome feeling.

This time tomorrow, I'll be enjoying some awesome music, and my meet-and-greet with Keith will be history.  I can't wait to tell you about it.  I just wish that my girls could go. *sigh* It's kind of a tradition for us to go together.

OK, I have to go to bed now.  It's been a LONG week!

Returning to some semblance of normalcy

Where have I been?  Here is the multiple choice quiz of the day:

a. Having the time of my life over the holiday weekend.

b. Suffering two days of depression over disappearing relatives.

c. Working 10-11 hour days.

d. All of the above.

I have a lot of pictures from the 4th for a later entry, but you've seen a ton over on Mom's journal.  Happy B-day to her, too!

Also, I won't mention what was used to make noise at Mom's place, but J.J. Walker used to say it all the time on Good Times.

I'm HOME!

My flight home was even better than the flight out.  Boss-man talked pilot-man into a 360 on my behalf.  It was awesome!  I'm glad to be home.  Peace out!

St. Louis stuff

OK, I got up in time to post yesterday's pictures.  A lot of them are the old Cardinals pictures from back in the day.  I'm not a huge baseball fan, but Kevin's Mom love love LOVES the Cards.  A lot of these pictures are for her.

The tiny plane made me nervous before we were in and gone, but it was the coolest plane ride EVER!  I could see EVERYTHING.  Also, I had headphones so I could hear the "chatter" between the towers and the pilot.  I didn't understand any of it at all, but it was still interesting to hear.  It also enabled the three of us to communicate with each other without yelling.

We are directly across from Busch stadium, and there was a game last night.  Some of the pictures suck, but I didn't have a ton of time to get them done AND sleep.  I often choose sleep over other activities.

OK, time to pack up and head downstairs.  I'll be on the road, visiting two customers in Illinois today.  Back to the St. Louis airport by 5:30 to head home.  I'll be home well before dark, which is how I like it.

Have a wonderful Tuesday!

Sunday

I had computer issues on Sunday evening, so I couldn't post my pictures.  Today, I worked half a day, then flew to St. Louis on the tiniest plane I've ever seen.  We checked in, I showered and dressed, then we went to dinner with customers, which lasted 2 1/2 hours!  Now, I'm in my room, but I need to get up by 5:30, so this is a short post.

Sunday pictures are above, the pictures from this trip will follow tomorrow morning (if I ACTUALLY get up at 5:30) or tomorrow evening.  I have some fun stuff to share.

Getting back to "normal"

The girls are home!  And it's about time.  The problem is: Monica arrived with a horrible sore throat, and a fever.  Kevin stopped at the Minute Clinic before he ever got them home, and she has strep.  Oh joy.

The poor kid hurts so bad.  This afternoon, her temperature was 103.8.  She has antibiotic and numbing gargle stuff and Tylenol, so she'll be OK.  Right know, though, that kid is SICK.

I went to Dad's today, so Natalie could visit (Monica is still contagious) and Natalie decided to stay for a while.  I came home to do some more laundry, then went back to pick up a refrigerator (our back porch fridge died a week ago.)  While we were there, Natalie decided that she wanted to spend the night with Aunt Rena.

We brought the fridge home and Natalie packed some clothes.  Then, I took her out to drop her off.  When I got home, Monica and I went out to the deck and lit the tiki torches.  She had asked to, and the Tylenol had her feeling better.

We sat out there and visited for a while, and she even caught a couple of fireflies.  When the skeeters started biting, we came in.  She's going to bed soon, since she is starting to droop a bit.  Tylenol can only do so much, you know?

My brother should be here soon.  Well, not HERE, but at Mom's.  We'll see them in the morning.  Monica can't be there until afternoon, since she needs 24 hours on antibiotics before she can be around anyone.

This will be a whirlwind week.  I have to fly to St. Louis on Monday afternoon, with the owner of the company.  Dinner with a customer Monday, then I'll get a rental on Tuesday to drive around Illinois to see 2 other customers, then meet back up with the owner and the pilot to fly home on Tuesday evening.  Then I'll work Wednesday and Thursday, then it's INDEPENDENCE DAY!  Woo Hoo!

Three day weekends are ALWAYS a good idea, right?

Angry Dad

Kevin's truck has been running like shit.  Sorry for not warning you that I'm going to cuss in this entry, but his truck has been REALLY running like shit.  If you ease into your cruising speed, you're fine.  If you stomp it, it sputtered and fell on it's face.  Kevin was SURE that there was some bad shit going on.

He asked several folks about it, and got different opinions.  I said "fuel filter."  He felt that it was the fuel filter.  YET, you don't know Kevin.  He is usually SURE that it's the worst possible problem, so he was sure his engine was about to blow up.  OK, not really, but he knew it was bad.

From the test drive we took a bit ago, the fuel filter fixed it. Rock ON!

On his way home tonight, he had to stop at WalMart.  I can't blame the guy for looking.  I really can't.  However, he got a dirty look for it.

Please check out my husband, Angry Dad.  It was too funny not to post.  Poor guy.
